This subgroup includes photographs that document tobacco research and farming in North Carolina.

The North Carolina College of Agricultural and Mechanic Arts was founded as the state's land-grant institution in 1887, and formally opened its doors two years later. From its beginnings, North Carolina State University has been deeply involved in outreach and extension work, bringing research on major North Carolina crops--such as tobacco--to farmers across the state.

This subgroup includes photographs that document tobacco research and farming in North Carolina.

Arrangement

Photographs were organized into albums as part of the digitization project, Living Off the Land. The provenance of these photographs is unclear, and so this order has been maintained.
