This collection contains proposals from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members for North Carolina State University's first official flag. The designs were submitted as part of a contest that took place in 2000. Most are color computer print-outs glued to foam boards. A few of the proposals were hand-colored with marker, and many contain brief handwritten or typed notes from the designer. Flat folder 4 contains two silk-screened flags.

Chosen by a vote of 9-2, the winning design came from Lynn Koonce, a graphic designer in N.C. State's Office of Public Affairs.
