The North Carolina State University, Student and Other Organizations, Mu Beta Psi Records contain correspondence, news clippings, meeting minutes, photocomposites of members, and issues of The Clef, the organization's official newsletter. Topics include the founding of the Alpha (NC State) Chapter, events, and documents concerning the club's objectives. Materials range in date from 1925 to 2001.
The Alpha (founding) Chapter of Mu Beta Psi was created 1925 to bring together musicians from all musical organizations on campus regardless of field. Its original purpose was to discuss music theory and to give members direction in terms of the musical clubs available on campus. It now recognizes outstanding achievement and service in campus musical organizations, promotes interest in the musical organizations on campus, advocates for music as an educational subject, and encourages fellowship amongst musicians (https://mubetapsi.org/about/, accessed April 2019).
