The Administrative Series contains correspondence, brochures, retention and disposition schedules of university records, and CD-ROMs used for a digitization project on forestry. Much of the correspondence is from Maurice Toler, who was University Archivist from 1965 to 1997.

Reports on the Metcalf Collection Project, or "The Metcalf Collection: Sharing a Unique NC State Resource with the World" developed for various grants and foundations, such as the University Extension Grant and the National Science Foundation. The focus of the project was to create a website on systematic entomology, focusing on the Metcalf Collection, a unique insect catalog assembled by NC State professor and entomologist Zeno P. Metcalf. The website was part of the Agricultural Network Information Center (AgNIC).

Project to determine which 5,000 photographs from the University Archives Photograph Collection should be selected to be digitized with Luna Imaging's Insight software. The goal of the project was to "improve access to visual materials through the initial setup of Insight," and to "create a digital image collection that enhances and promotes teh hsitory and community of North Carolina State University." The project was headed by Robert Burton.
