The newspaper was founded on August 5, 1920, in São Paulo, Brazil, the articles in this collection include volume 1, which was published between the years 1920 and 1923 by Syrian and Lebanese immigrants. Al-Jarida means "The Newspaper" in Arabic, الجريدة.
