The author of this travel journal is unidentified. Travel journals or diaries were a popular way for travelers to record what they saw and experienced on their journeys.
Collection includes a handwritten travel journal, with sketches pasted in, titled Souvenirs d'un Voyage dans le Midi de la France, en Passant par Tours, Bordeaux, Pau, Bagneres (de Bigorre), Toulouse, Nimes, Avignon, Lyon, Geneve et Dijon (Remembrances of a Trip to the Middle of France, Passing Tours, Bourdeaux, Pau, Bagneres (de Bigorre), Toulouse, Nimes, Avignon, Lyon, Geneve and Dijon). Sketches include churches, ruins, theaters, and chateaux.
