G. M. (Graham Munroe) Sloan was a textile student at North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University), from approximately 1915 to approximately 1919. He grew up in Swannanoa, North Carolina, and served in the military during World War I. Later, he may have worked at Beacon Manufacturing.
