Nancy Ann Monteiro-Riviere is a Professor of Investigative Dermatology and Toxicology in the Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University. She holds an M.A. from Stonehill College and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University. She also did postdoctoral work at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology (CIIT) Centers for Health Research in Research Triangle Park.
Her research has focused on the toxicity of environmental and novel pharmaceutical compounds, including toxicity of nanomaterials and cell uptake pathways and biodistribution studies. She has edited Skin Toxicology- Target Organ Series for Toxicology and Nanotoxicology: Characterization, Dosing and Health Effects (2007).
