The Carroll Mann, Sr. Maps, 1905-1952, primarily contains survey maps and topographical maps of portions of Raleigh and Wake County, North Carolina. There are also maps for a few other North Carolina locations. Most (but not all) were drawn by Carroll Mann, Sr. The collection also contains a few notes and a small amount of correspondence .
Carroll Lamb Mann, Sr. (1877-1961), graduated from the college in 1899, and was on the civil engineering faculty from 1901 to 1948. He married Yanita Cribbs in 1903. Mann Hall on the NC State campus is named for him. He also headed efforts of the Alumni Association to raise funds for construction of the Memorial Bell Tower.

These maps and other documents were transferred to the NC State University Libraries by the State Archives of North Carolina in 2000. The State Archives had originally received them from the Wake County (N.C.) Planning Department.
