About This Workshop

This workshop provides a basic overview of IRB history, operations, and the eIRB application. It is designed for individuals with little to no background in human subjects research practices at NC State University and serves as a foundation for all other IRB workshops offered through the NC State University Libraries.

The workshop covers:

  • History of human subjects research in the modern era

  • When to file an IRB application

  • IRB levels of review

  • How to fill out an IRB application at NC State focused on the first parts of the IRB application: research design, populations targeted, procedures, and supplemental documents¬†
