WhenTuesday, February 23
10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
JMP by the SAS Institute is a statistical software whose GUI nature makes it user friendly for non-coders. In our workshop we shall demonstrate the fundamentals of data preparation and analysis using JMP. This will include data extraction, data pre-processing, making statistical summaries, and getting graphical representations for both qualitative and quantitative data. After this workshop, attendees will be able to use JMP to 1) read in and format data, 2) perform basic data cleaning, 3) perform sanity checks, 4) manipulate data, 5) know how to sort, sample, merge, and append datasets, 6) get counts, percentages, and measures of location, shape and spread, and 7) generate histograms, scatterplots and box plots.
This workshop will be held on Zoom and be better comprehensible if the participant has JMP installed on their own end. Relevant materials will be distributed prior to the workshop. Participants do not require any coding experience. Note: the workshop will not cover any theoretical aspects of statistics.
