Workshop Description

Embroidery is a centuries old practice that can be found in various cultures around the world, from rugs to clothing articles. Today there are many types of embroidery from the classic hand embroidery to digital machine embroidery. Embroidery itself has also evolved from its practical uses to be its own form of art. In this workshop, participants will be able to learn more about the art of hand embroidery through a basic introduction of the types of stitches one may encounter when beginning hand embroidery. Participants will additionally learn more information about embroidery hoops, floss, needles, and how to follow a pattern to create their own embroidery embellishments for various textile projects.
