Virtual reality is a technology toolkit that allows a user to interact intuitively with responsive digital environments.
Virtual and mixed reality scenes can be designed and delivered within the web browser, unlocking new possibilities for design, education, entertainment, exhibition, and more.
In this introductory & informal live-coding session, we'll explore these web-based virtual reality scenes and the webXR tools used to build them. We'll introduce the simple markdown language AFrame and familiarize ourselves with the core concepts of html in order to design interactive 3D web scenes.
This workshop is a good introduction to creative coding concepts and no previous technical knowledge is required.
Lessons will be web-based and all sessions will feature tools and tricks that require no specialized VR equipment, although access to a smartphone or tablet mobile device will allow better demonstration of some examples.
If assistive technology, live captioning, or other accommodations would improve your experience at this event, please contact us. We encourage you to contact us early about this to allow sufficient time to meet your access needs.
