Melissa Cornish, since January of 2008, has served as the Project Leader for Business and Development Analysis for the Duke Translational Research Institute's MURDOCK Study in Kannapolis.

Ashley Caroline Aull Dunham is currently Project Leader for Community Engagement for the MURDOCK Study.

The major themes of this interview include: the purpose and design of the MURDOCK Study; Cornish's and Dunham's specific roles in the study; the respective paths they took to their current positions; the suitability of Kannapolis and Cabarrus County as a setting for the study; the transformative potential of the North Carolina Research Campus for the region; and the advantages of the study being situated at the campus.
