A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Brooks Breeden graduated from the North Carolina State University School (now College) of Design in 1965 with a degree in landscape architecture. During his long career, he worked briefly for Willard Byrd, and then Baldwin Associates before teaching at University of Georgia with Herbert Owens. He spent most of his academic career at Ohio State University with Jot Carpenter. Breeden developed LARCH Software.
