Wanna know how to get a job?

Networking Workshop in action.

It’s all about who you know—but how do you get to know who you need to know? Networking!

The NCSU Libraries and NC State Entrepreneurship are co-hosting a “How to Network” workshop on Monday, Nov. 12, 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. in 3210 Talley Student Union. The highly interactive workshop is geared toward students interested in learning or improving networking abilities. This workshop is available to NC State students only. Register at go.ncsu.edu/how-to-network

You will learn pointers on some of the best techniques for entering and exiting conversations, making great first impressions and maintaining connections after meeting new people. Immediately after the workshop, students are invited to join NC State Entrepreneurship in the 1887 Bistro for the Global Entrepreneurship Week Kickoff—a perfect opportunity to practice those freshly-sharpened networking skills.

Global Entrepreneurship Week at NC State is sponsored by NC State Entrepreneurship and the NCSU Libraries. “This partnership between NC State Entrepreneurship and the Libraries is so great because students get to use cutting-edge library technology and resources to participate in high-impact programs focused on student success and which truly foster innovation,” says Shelby Hallman, the Libraries’ Research Librarian for Engineering and Entrepreneurship.

“At every stage of the design and innovation process. the Libraries has specialized resources and expertise available to give student entrepreneurs a leg up. Any student can use the Makerspace for creating product prototypes, receive assistance in conducting market analysis, learn about and locate patents, develop new technical skills, and participate in special Entrepreneurship Alliance events, such as the Make-A-Thon.”

If you plan to attend the networking workshop AND the reception, please be sure to reserve a ticket for each event. You can reserve a ticket for How to Network below and you can reserve a ticket for the following reception here.

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
