In October, NCSU Libraries Fellow Nicola Andrews and Student Success and Engagement Librarian William Langston joined Kris Alpi and Library of Veterinary Medicine staff at the annual Dog Olympics at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Andrews and Langston were there to meet and greet community members and tell them about the Libraries' 3D printing capabilities and services and how they are assisting learning and research in the veterinary sciences at NC State. The 3D printing display was a collaboration with Becca Cook from the lab of anatomy professor Dr. Chris Walker. Visitors could see and hold 3D-printed models and bones from various animals that were on display. And the winning dogs were given medals laser-cut from designs by the veterinary students in the Companion Animal Wellness Club working with with Libraries Makerspace staff.
