“It’s alive… and genetically altered!”

Graphic displaying a man and DNA in unison.

Remember that shaving cream can with a secret compartment full of dinosaur DNA in “Jurassic Park?” Pretty cool gadget, but is that even possible?

The Science in the Movies series returns on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in the Hunt Library’s Auditorium with clips and discussion about films that deal with genetic engineering. “Genetic Engineering and Gene Editing” features panelists Marsha Gordon (Professor, Film Studies, NC State), Rodolphe Barrangou (Associate Professor, CRISPR Lab Lead, NC State), and Thomas Williams (Law & Biosciences Fellow in Science and Society, Duke University). The event is free and open to the public.

The “Science in the Movies” series is co-presented by the NCSU Libraries and the Science Communicators of North Carolina.
