Accommodations

A block of rooms is reserved at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel in downtown. We have secured a rate of $149/night. Please reserve a room using this link

If you received a scholarship, you will still need to book your room using the above link and include your credit card for incidentals. Please note, if you plan to extend your stay at the Sheraton Hotel, the extra costs to do so will need to be paid as an out-of-pocket expense.

Food

Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks will be provided during the conference, and hors d'oeuvres will be served at the reception on Thursday evening. Be sure to note dietary preferences when registering for the conference.

Travel

Getting to Raleigh from the airport

The Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) serves the Triangle area. It is about a 15-mile (25 minute) drive to the James B. Hunt Jr. Library. Driving directions to the Hunt Library from the airport and other locations.

GoTriangle bus service provides bus service for $2.25 each way, connecting the airport to downtown Raleigh via Route 100. Note: Route 100 does not reach NC State’s Centennial Campus.

Taxi service is easily available just outside RDU baggage claim. Rideshare services, like Lyft and Uber, have a designated pickup area.

Morning bus service

Thursday, Nov. 14, 8:15am: a complimentary morning bus service will pick up attendees at the Sheraton lobby and drop off at the Hunt Library.

Friday, Nov. 15, 8:30am: a complimentary morning bus service will pick up attendees at the Sheraton lobby and drop off at the Hunt Library.

Reception bus service

After the reception on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 14, a complimentary bus service will bring attendees to the Sheraton hotel.

(Please note that you should make your own arrangements to get to the hotel or elsewhere after the conference ends on Friday, Nov. 15.)

Prepaid parking at the venue

If you require parking, please contact us for prepaid parking. Parking is available at the Oval West Parking Deck (map) near the Hunt Library. Parking for the day is $10, and it must be paid in advance.

Directions to Oval West Parking Deck: To get to the Oval West Parking Deck from Main Campus Dr., turn onto Research Dr. toward the Hunt Library, initially following signs for Partners I Lot. You'll see a three-story concrete parking deck: this is the Oval West Parking Deck. 

Hourly parking at the venue

If you prefer not to pay in advance for parking, hourly parking is also available in the Poulton Paylot across the street from the first floor entrance to the Hunt Library. Parking spots are numbered, and there is a pay station that accepts debit and credit cards only (no cash). See parking fees. The Poulton Paylot also accepts payment online through the Passport Parking app.

Alternative transportation options to the venue

Lime bikes and electronic scooters are available on campus.

Public transit from the Sheraton Hotel to the Hunt Library will cost $2.50 (cash only) for a day pass:

  • Take the GoRaleigh 11 route from W. Lenoir St at S. Salisbury St.
  • Ride 14 stops to Avent Ferry Rd. at Western Blvd. (stop #8526)
  • Switch to the (free) NCSU Wolfline #8 Southeast loop route.
  • Ride 6 stops to the College of Textiles/Hunt Library stop. 
  • With the College of Textiles to your back, Hunt Library is a 2-minute walk across the lawn.
