Henry Brower Smith (1917-1992) was a chemical engineer from Durham, North Carolina. After a career that included positions as director of research at General Foods Corporation and vice president of Armour Grocery Products, he was a professor of chemical engineering, associate dean of engineering, and then vice provost and dean for research at North Carolina State University from 1965 to 1983. From 1970 to 1972, Smith was as a member of the board of directors of the Medical Plastics Corporation of America.
