MoreThe Stephen G. Rea Papers (1976-1987) are comprised of 0.2 linear feet of photocopies of correspondence, certificates, newsclippings, programs, photographs, and other documents. These materials document Rea's involvement in ASME, Engineers Council, Golden Chain, and other NC State University student organizations. Also included are materials from internships, soccer, the Army National Guard, and the City of Raleigh. A native of Goldsboro, NC, Stephen G. Rea ("Steve") was a student at North Carolina State University during the 1970s and 1980s. He majored in mechanical engineering, and he received his BS in 1980 and MS in 1987. After leaving NC State Rea worked for Carolina Power & Light. He then worked more than 25 years for Heyward Incorporated, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of Power Capital Sales. For his service to the North Carolina power industry, the governor bestowed on Rea the Order of the Longleaf Pine.
