North Carolina State University's Club Football team was organized in 1970 to allow students to play football in a structured setting outside of the varsity athletic environment. Ultimately, the Club Football team was denied recognition as a valid university student organization as of 1987, for the cited reasons that there were other organized football programs on campus, including the varsity team and intramurals. The North Carolina State University Faculty Club was founded in 1958 by members of the faculty who were interested in establishing a social organization specifically for faculty members. After obtaining a grant, the Faculty Club was able to construct their own building (finished in 1963, and then known as the Faculty Club Facility), which is located on West Campus. In 1998, the club expanded their membership requirements to allow broader participation by allowing staff members and alumni to also join. The name of the club was changed to the University Club, and their building was renamed the University Club Facility. The University Club continues to be active as of 2008. Less

Materials range in date from 1953 to 1977. The Pershing Rifles were established by General John Joseph Pershing at the University of Nebraska in 1891 to act as an honorary organization for members of the ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) program. The L-4 Company of the Pershing Rifles was established at NC State on February 7, 1953, and participates in ceremonies such as the Color Guard and the Pennant Guard for university and athletic events. The Zeta of North Carolina Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa records include chapter applications, application committee business, and correspondence relating to attempts to establish a chapter of the society at North Carolina State University, as well as materials related to the creation of the chapter and induction of the original undergraduate members in 1995 and subsequent years. The collection also includes materials from two Triennial Council meetings and some photographs of the organization's officers and ceremonies. The Zeta of North Carolina Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa was founded at North Carolina State University on April 17, 1995 reflecting a tremendous achievement for the University. Phi Eta Sigma was founded at the University of Illinois in 1923 as an academic honor society for freshman students. North Carolina State's chapter was granted on 16 May, 1930, with the distinction of being both the 12th chapter nationally, and the first within the state of North Carolina (because of this, NC State's chapter was for a period of time known as the "Alpha Chapter of North Carolina"). Membership is open to those students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during their first undergraduate semester. NC State's Phi Eta Sigma chapter remained active as of 2008. Less

The North Carolina State University, Student and Other Organizations, Phi Zeta Honor Society, Psi Chapter Records contain brochures, histories, a membership list, and an induction ceremony program with accompanying powerpoint file. Materials range in date from 1984 to 2017. The Honor Society of Phi Zeta began at Cornell University in 1925, with the first meeting occurring in 1929 in Detroit, Michigan. Soon after, several other chapters formed. The name derives from the Latin "Philozoi," meaning "love for animals." The object of the Society, as laid out in the Constitution, is "to recognize and promote scholarship and research in matters pertaining to the welfare and disease of animals." Meetings are held annually in conjunction with the AVMA Convention and two research awards are sponsored per year to help fund lectures at different chapters. Because the Alpha Chapter also acts as the national office for Rho Phi Lambda, a small amount of national administrative items and correspondence can be found in this subgroup, though the majority of these records are specific to the Alpha Chapter. Rho Phi Lambda is an honor fraternity for students in Parks and Recreation programs. Rho Phi Lambda began as Rho Phi Alpha at North Carolina State in 1959, acting as an honor fraternity for the top academic students in the Department of Recreation and Parks Administration. By the 1980s, five other universities had established chapters in Rho Phi Alpha, though another fraternity was also serving as an academic honorary group for Recreation and Parks students nationwide - Sigma Lambda Sigma, which had been established at Florida State University. Professors from the two respective universities met to discuss merging the fraternities, an action which was carried out in 1985. The organization was renamed Rho Phi Lambda, and because NC State's chapter was the oldest of all chapters in the merged organization, they assumed the title of Alpha Chapter. Rho Phi Lambda does not have an individual national office - rather, since NC State's chapter is the Alpha chapter, they also act as the national office for the organization. The records also include archived web content of the Rugby Club's official website, captured quarterly beginning in September 2020. The North Carolina State University Rugby Football Club was organized in 1965. The records for the first few years of the club's existence were reportedly intentionally destroyed. The club competed with a number of teams up and down the Atlantic seaboard as a member of the Eastern Rugby Union and later joined the United States of America Rugby Football Union. The team has toured outside the region, including vists to Great Britian and has hosted teams from the United States and abroad. Less

North Carolina State College (University) was granted a chapter (the Rho Chapter) in the Sigma Pi Fraternity in May of 1921, composed of the brothers of the former Sigma Chi Gamma Fraternity on NC State's campus. As of 2008, the Rho Chapter remained active at NC State, and was the fifth oldest chapter of the Sigma Pi Fraternity to be in continuous existence. Less
