The records of the Office of the Dean in the College of Design of North Carolina State University include correspondence, minutes, reports relating to the administration of the College and the American Institute of Architects (AIA), courses and curricula materials, accreditation, the North Carolina Design Foundation Inc., lectures, programs, landscape architecture accreditation, the American Society of Landscape Architects accreditation, and the National Architecture Accrediting Board. Also included is material pertaining to organizations such as the Foundry educational Foundation, Geological Society of North America, the North Carolina Academy of Sciences, and Sigma Xi. Financial and grant records are also included. The origins of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering lie in the Departments of Geology and Mineral Industries Engineering.
