John Thomas Brake (1952-2018) was a member of the faculty of NC State University, beginning as an assistant professor of Poultry Science in 1981. In 2001, he was named William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He also served as Director of Graduate and Certificate Programs for the Prestage Department of Poultry Science from 2003 to 2017.
