What is a QR Code?

A QR Code is a type of barcode that can be scanned using a camera on a cell phone that is equipped with a QR Scanner. Standing for “Quick Response”, these codes are becoming more and more popular and user-friendly. The barcode quickly provides information such as urls, contact information, or other text once scanned. While originally used for tracking, these codes are beginning to be seen in a wide range of convenience applications.

Where do we use QR codes in the libraries?
We use QR codes on a variety of signs and objects within the library. Look for codes on Study Rooms, printers, and e-boards.
