Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find out when my NCSU thesis or dissertation was first made available to the public?
Students often need to establish the date on which their thesis or dissertation became publicly available in order to register a patent for a process or product developed as part of their thesis research. The Libraries' Cataloging Department enables worldwide access to NCSU theses on the date that a record is first created in the OCLC WorldCat database. To find out the date of first public access for your thesis or dissertation, contact the Principal Cataloger, Charles Pennell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
