- Fishbowl Forum at the D. H. Hill, Jr. Library
State of Sound: Stories from NC State University Libraries invites individuals and groups to share their personal sound stories - their own creative paths that got them involved with sound - to highlight diverse ways forward for those interested in making sound a bigger part of their lives or careers.
G Yamazawa is a proud Durham native, Japanese American, and rapper who’s nice on the mic. Yamazawa has been featured on ABC, NBC, NPR, PBS, and has toured over 200 universities both domestically and internationally. With notable performances at the Sundance Film Festival and the Pentagon, G continues to challenge the American perspective of race and culture, poetry and rap, and the phenomena of the human condition. Come join us on September 26th as we dive into Yamazawa’s story. This program will be followed by an open mic session that is open to all -- no previous experience required.
