- Fishbowl Forum at the D. H. Hill, Jr. Library
State of Sound: Stories from NC State University Libraries invites individuals and groups to share their personal sound stories - their own creative paths that got them involved with sound - to highlight diverse ways forward for those interested in making sound a bigger part of their lives or careers.
Cheetie Kumar is a guitarist for the classic Raleigh psychedelic band Birds of Avalon, a James Beard-nominated chef at Raleigh's Garland, and one of the owners of King's, Raleigh's premiere rock and roll venue.
Cheetie's story goes from India, to the Bronx, to the University of Massachusetts, to the world of rock and roll touring, to her world-renowned cooking - which she taught herself - and her infectious DIY spirit that ties it all together.
