State of Sound Stories from NC State University Libraries invites individuals and groups to share their personal sound stories - their own creative paths that got them involved with sound - to highlight diverse ways forward for those interested in making sound a bigger part of their lives or careers.
Join us in the Hill Library Fishbowl Forum on Thursday, June 15 at 5:30pm for a conversation with andie and Isobel Knight.
Both hailing from around Sydney, Australia, andie and Isobel Knight have been friends for nearly a decade. Together, they have taken on the mighty task of independently planning a tour of the United States. They graciously agreed to visit North Carolina on their journey and we’re elated they're stopping by.
Andie began her musical story by uploading covers of popular songs on YouTube over a decade ago. She’s been able to fund the release of her three studio albums through Kickstarter. Her most recent release, the heat of the moment, is “a collection of songs that were written in the heat of the moment”. You can find andie on Instagram and Bandcamp.
Isobel Knight released her debut album The Nest in 2018, and her sophomore album, Here Now, recorded in New York City in 2021, debuted at number 5 on the Australian independent album charts. You can also find Isobel on Instagram and Bandcamp.
The conversation will be captured for the State of Sound Stories podcast, coming soon to podcast distributors everywhere.
State of Sound Stories interviews are free and open to the public.
