Workshop Details

Pre-requisites:
Attendees should have a working knowledge of Arduino, e.g. from attending one of our Arduino workshops or from working through the example circuits in our SparkFun Inventor's Kits.

You do not have to have attended the D.H. Hill Makerspace Orientation to attend.
Description:
Come learn more about the Internet of Things (IoT)!

In this project-based workshop, you'll get up and running using an Arduino (Sparkfun RedBoard) and ESP8266 WiFI shield. We will guide you through connecting this to an online service designed to work with IoT devices.

We'll provide all necessary hardware as well as Mac laptops with the Arduino software. If you prefer to use your own computer, please install the Arduino IDE v. 1.6.5 or higher.

The Libraries' Makerspace has a new initiative to support our users in learning the Internet of Things—for more information, see: http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/do/iot
