Description:
Join Christine Sunu, Buzzfeed’s GE Internet of Things Fellow at the Open Lab for Journalism, Technology, and the Arts, in this interactive workshop that explores IoT technologies with a focus on internet-connected toys and the potential available in connecting emotions and technology.

Christine Sunu is the GE Internet of Things Fellow in BuzzFeed's Open Lab for Journalism, Technology, and the Arts. Her research is focused on the links between emotion, design, media, and IoT. She writes and speaks widely about the importance of human connection—to technology, to ourselves, and to others. Since studying at Brown University and training at Yale School of Medicine, Christine has designed developer experiences, run IoT workshops, sequenced human genomes, conducted patient interviews, and killed thousands of fruit flies in the name of science. She currently lives in San Francisco and builds emotive interfaces for internet connected technology.

This program is part of the NCSU Libraries' Making Space initiative, a series of public talks and workshops that aims to raise awareness among women about access to tools and technology, lower barriers to entry for first-time users of makerspaces, and serve as a networking platform for women in the NC State community.
