Join NCSU Librarians and campus partners to learn about writing your literature review, searching for literature using professional research databases, and organizing all of your information using free citation management software.

Full workshops are scheduled for three hours:
  • Hour 1: Literature reviews - content, concepts, tactics, and tips.  Along the way, learn about library services you may not know about, and connect with librarians in your subject area for more in-depth help finding information later.
  • Hour 2: Literature searching - search tools tailored to your area of research.  Avoid fruitlessly wasting time with unfocused Internet searches and learn to use professional tools and search strategies.  Workshop will cover a general research database while pointing out subject-specific tools relevant to audience.
  • Hour 3: Citation management using RefWorks/Zotero - keep your information organized and generate bibliographies automatically.  Learn about these free tools and how they help with the research databases you're already using.
Comment taken from evaluation of recent offering of this session: "Excellent seminar--should be mandatory for all graduate students."
