Alt-Textbook Project Information Session

Category: None

Tags: Copyright, OERs, Open Education, Textbooks

The NCSU Libraries invites applications for a competitive grant program to adopt, adapt, or create Open Educational Resources (OERs). OERs are freely-accessible alternatives to traditional print textbooks. OERs empower faculty to innovate pedagogically,, enhance access for NC State students to high-quality, tailored educational materials, and reduce the financial burden of expensive textbooks. This session will provide an introduction to different types of OERs, as well as successful Alt-Textbook-funded projects. We will discuss the 2016-17 call for proposals and application process in detail. Participants will also have the opportunity to speak with librarians about potential project ideas.

Prospective applicants are highly encouraged to attend.

Workshop Pre-Requisites

This information session is intended for NCSU faculty and instructors considering applying for an Alt-Textbook grant or interested in learning more about employing Open Educational Resources in their classroom.
