About This Event

A Farewell to Arms is the story of an American ambulance driver on the Italian front and his passion for a beautiful English nurse. Set against the looming horrors of the battlefield, Ernest Hemingway used his own experiences in WWI as an inspiration for this classic work of American literature. Our conversation will be led by Dr. Marc Dudley, professor of English at NC State and editor of A Farewell to Arms: A Norton Critical Edition published by W.W. Norton this month.

Read Smart is a collaboration between NC State University Libraries and Wake County Public Libraries.
