About This Event

Quail Ridge Books is delighted to announce that Randall Munroe will discuss his new book, How To: Absurd Scientific Advice for Common Real-World Problems at James B. Hunt Jr. Library on Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m.

From the brilliant mind behind the wildly popular webcomic XKCD and the #1 New York Times bestsellers What If? and Thing Explainer comes the world's most entertaining and useless self-help guide.

Munroe will be in conversation with Katie Mack (a.k.a. Dr. Katherine J. Mack of NC State University), astrophysicist, cosmologist, freelance science writer, and connoisseur of cosmic catastrophes.

Tickets are $29.99 through Eventbrite. Each ticket includes a copy of How To: Absurd Scientific Advice for Common Real-World Problems, a reserved seat, a place in the signing line, and ticket fees.

STUDENT TICKETS SOLD OUT.  For students: There are a limited number of free tickets available for current NC State University students on a first-come, first-served basis, one ticket per student.  Please note: Free student tickets do not include a copy of the book; however, books will be available for purchase on-site.

This event is co-sponsored by NC State University, Friends of the Library.
