North Carolina Collection
"The North Carolina Collection, a department of the Special Collections located in Wilson Library on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus, contains over a quarter of a million published items related to North Carolina and its people. Holdings range from a sixteenth-century volume to the most current issue of the campus newspaper. Fiction and non-fiction books are included, as well as pamphlets, newspapers, journals, newsletters, maps, broadsides, microforms, and audiovisuals. County and municipal histories, city directories, telephone books, and college catalogs are part of the collection." -from website.

Southern Historical Collection
Includes collections of manuscripts, letters, and oral history interviews documenting life in the South. It's strenght lies is antebellum, Civil War, and Reconstruction South, but also includes more contemporary materials.
