Using LC Call Numbers
The NCSU Libraries organizes books and journals using Library of Congress (LC) call numbers. To find the call number for a book or journal, you must use the library catalog. Once you find the call number, use a D. H. Hill Library building map to locate the floor where the book or journal is kept.
Note: Current journals are located on the first floor of the West Wing. Older, bound journals are shelved as books.
How to read a call number
Call numbers have letters followed by numbers (which can contain a decimal point) both before and after a separating period.
