Usability Research Lab

The Usability Research Laboratory (URL) is located on the 2nd Floor, East Wing of D.H. Hill Library. Access to the lab is provided by staff at the Digital Media Lab service desk. This is a self-service facility; the DML staff are not trained to support the specialized usability testing software available on URL computers. Contact Angie Ballard, the lab instructional coordinator to arrange for an orientation to the URL.

The lab is equipped for recording video, audio, and computer activity for observation and analysis. It is available for use by NCSU faculty, staff and students who are involved in projects or research that requires usability testing of computer applications. It is also used by library faculty and staff who conduct usabilty testing in order to improve the libraries online tools and services.

Remember to bring your own portable USB digital media for storing session recordings.
