1902: Holladay Hall, November 13, 1902.

1911: Jane McKimmon was hired on November, 1, 1911, to initiate the Home Demonstration program, which she ran for more than twenty-five years. It is now called Family and Consumer Sciences. McKimmon is shown here in a 1939 photograph. The McKimmon Center is named after her.

1940: Gertrude Cox was hired as a professor of experimental statistics in November 1940. She was the first head of that department. She was also the first woman to serve as a full professor and department head at the college. Cox Hall is named after her. In the image to the left, she is shown in a 1948 photograph by Siddell Studio. In the lower image, ca. 1950, Cox is seated in the center.

1949: Former Governor R. Gregg Cherry spoke at the dedication services for the Memorial Tower on November 11, 1949. Construction of the Bell Tower, as it is usually called, commenced in the 1920s, but it experienced a number of delays. To this day it remains without a real bell. The lower image shows it in the 1960s in a photograph by Ralph Mills.

1964: The Faculty Senate voted to abolish compulsory ROTC on November 10, 1964. Prior to that date, all male students were required to take military training. This image shows an Air Force ROTC egg toss from the 1960s.

1965: Members of the football team mobbed Harold Deters after he kicked the winning field goal against Florida State in final game at Riddick Stadium, November 13, 1965. The score was 3-0. The lower photograph shows an aerial view of the stadium in 1955. SAS Hall was recently constructed on the site of the old stadium.

1981: Aerial view of the College of Veterinary Medicine, November 8, 1981, at the time when it first opened. The first class had 40 students.
