First graduating class, 1893

1893: President Alexander Q. Holladay and the first graduating class from the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (now NCSU), June 20, 1893. Of the 72 students who enrolled at the college as freshman in 1889, only 19 graduated.
Thompson Gymnasium, 1925

1925: Recently renovated, Thompson Hall opened as Thompson Gymnasium 8 June 1925, and served as the home of NC State’s basketball teams until Reynolds Coliseum was opened in 1949.
Brooks Hall, 1926

1926: Now known as Brooks Hall, this building was officially dedicated as the D. H. Hill Library on June 7, 1926. This was the first individual building the library occupied on campus. Previous locations included the first floor of the old Pullen Hall (1903-1926), and a single room in Holladay Hall (1889-1903).
Textiles graduating class, 1937

1937: A portion of the graduating class at the Textile School of North Carolina State College in front of Tompkins Hall. They graduated in June 1937. Dean Thomas Nelson is in the front row, seventh from the left. The Class of 1937 was the largest that the Textile School had up to that time.
Fistulated cow demonstration, 1956

1956: Farmers watching a demonstration of North Carolina State College's fistulated cow during Farm and Home Week, June 1956. Put on by the NC Cooperative Extension Service, demonstrations like this helped to share knowledge gained at NC State with farmers throughout North Carolina.

Dairy princess, 1958

1958: The Dairy Princess for 1958 posing with a carton of ice cream in a dairy factory to promote the "June is Dairy Month" campaign.
Inspection of Lee Hall, 1964

1964: Renamed Lee Dormitory in 1965, "Dorm ´62" was dedicated and opened to its first residents June 8, 1964. Here, North Carolina State Housing Director N. B. Watts examines concealed storage space located near built-in dresser facilities in the dorm just prior to the opening.
Talley Student Center, 1970s

1970s: Shown here before the installation of the fountain and courtyard, Talley Student Center opened in June of 1972, replacing the Erdahl-Cloyd building (now the west wing of D.H. Hill Library) as the campus student center.
