Department Background
The Department of Wood and Paper Science is jointly administered by the College of Natural Resources and the College of Engineering
1949: Department of Wood Science and Technology established
1950: Masters' and Ph.D. degrees in Wood Science and Technology offered
1957: Hodges Wood Working Laboratory and the Robertson Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Technology buildings opened
1968: Department of Wood Science and Technology renamed the Department of Wood and Paper Science
1970: Department moved to Biltmore Hall
