How to Make Sense of Your Search Results

Your results list will consist of records for articles and other documents that are connected to your keyword search. A record may be connected to your keywords because the words appear in the title, abstract, and/or "descriptors" for the information resource listed.

The most important information in the results list are the citation and the abstract for the article or document.

  • The citation consists of the title, author name, and publication information. For journal articles, the publication information includes journal title, volume, issue number, year, and page numbers.
  • The abstract is a short summary of the article or document.
