Most Used Resource
The NCSU Libraries is the gateway to knowledge for the NC State University community and its
partners. On a typical day, the library is open 24 hours and serves 20,000 on site and virtual users.
And, with over 7,000 visitors per day, D. H. Hill Library is the most heavily used building on campus.
The collections include 3.4 million volumes, and users have access to approximately 300 bibliographic
databases. Subscriptions to print and electronic serials total approximately 55,000.
Collection strengths are in the biological and physical sciences, engineering, agriculture, forestry,
textiles, and architecture, with the arts, humanities, and social sciences also well represented.
Four branch libraries support specific academic areas: Burlington Textiles Library, Harrye B.
Lyons Design Library, Natural Resources Library, and William Rand Kenan, Jr. Library of Veterinary Medicine.
