With the support of NC State faculty from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, the Association for Computing Machinery's Simulation Special Interest Group and the INFORMS Simulation Society, the NCSU Libraries' SCRC is preserving history of the field of simulation.
Combining elements of the history of computer science with those of industrial engineering, simulation arose as a discipline of research and practice during the 1940s, with many seminal works in simulation published from 1940 to 1965. The following collections represent the critical work of the earliest pioneers in industrial, communications, and transportation simulation.
