Abstract: Series Q of The Biltmore Estate Forestry Department Manager's Records contains business and personal correspondence dated 1898 to 1909, predominately incoming correspondence collected and preserved by George Vanderbilt's Biltmore Estate Forestry Department Office. Copies of outgoing correspondence, presumably letters written by Biltmore Estate Forest Manager, Dr. Carl Alwin Schenck are included. Series Q is the smallest series in The Biltmore Estate Forestry Department Manager's Records. One company represented is Queen & Co. Incorporated, Manufacturers of Scientific Instruments. They were located in Philadelphia, Pa. They repaired a compass for Dr. Schenck.
