Special Collections Research CenterEntomology CollectionsManuscript Collections | Manuscripts | University Archives The Special Collections Research Center holds extensive unpublished collections entomological material in both manuscripts and the University Archives. Guides to the papers and records of noted entomologists appear below. Printed books spanning over five centuries, ranging from incunabula to modern press books support entomological research. The NCSU Libraries was fortunate to acquire the entire research collections of Zeno P. Metcalf and Friedrich Tippmann, two twentieth century entomologists. Metcalf, an entomologist first with the North Carolina State Department of Agriculture, and then on the faculty of NC State University, is known for his comprehensive bibliography of Homoptera. In addition, two works by E. A. Seguy, Insectes and Papillons, are noteworthy for their stylized Art Deco depiction of insects.
