campus and personnel monitoring equipment.</cell><cell></cell></row>

modifications or extensions of electronic reactor<lb/>
instrumentation, and where authorized, designs,<lb/>
constructs and installs such equipment.</cell><cell></cell></row>
<row><cell></cell><cell>(c) All major items of maintenance or any proposed<lb/>
change or extension of reactor instrumentation will<lb/>
be cleared in advance of execution with the Reactor<lb/>
Supervisor, and in cases of disagreement reference<lb/>
will be made to the Director and Reactor Staff for<lb/>
clarification.</cell><cell></cell></row>

<row><cell cols='2'>6. Reactor Safety Officer</cell><cell></cell></row>
<row><cell></cell><cell>(a) Responsible to Director, (but works closely with<lb/>
Reactor Supervisor and all members of the project)<lb/>
to see that all safety regulations are observed<lb/>
and that accepted safety practices are followed.</cell><cell></cell></row>
<row><cell></cell><cell>(b) Is informed in advance of all anticipated usage of<lb/>
the reactor.</cell><cell></cell></row>
<row><cell></cell><cell>(a) Handles personnel, building, and area monitoring <orig reg="equipment">equip-<lb/>
ment</orig> and records; maintains portable monitoring and<lb/>
emergency equipment in good repair.</cell><cell></cell></row>
<row><cell></cell><cell>(d) Cooperates closely with Radiological Safety Officer<lb/>
(The Reactor Safety Officer and the campus <orig reg="Radiological">Radiologi-<lb/>
cal</orig> Safety Officer my be the same person performing<lb/>

make the plan of the experiment, responsibility<lb/>
for execution, and the responsibility for proper<lb/>
close down, a matter of record in the log-book,<lb/>
before he leaves the group.</cell></row>
