Student Webpages

Students are solely responsible and liable for the content of their personal webpages. Posting infringing materials on a personal webpage is illegal and against university policy. If the university becomes aware that there are infringing materials on a site residing on the university server, the university must remove the material or prevent access to the site. Repeat infringements will subject the individual to university disciplinary procedures which can include termination of computer access privileges.

Students, like anyone else, can avail themselves of the fair use provisions of the copyright act. Students should keep in mind, however, that a nonprofit educational purpose does not automatically mean a use is fair or permitted andthat owning a physical copy of a work does not make you the copyright holder.
