Licensing @ NC State

Licensing, that is, entering into a specific contractual arrangement, will also continue to co-exist with fair use and the other copyright exemptions, including the TEACH amendments. Many copyrighted materials, particularly electronic resources, are governed by a license. It is important to note that the terms of a license will generally prevail over copyright law. Therefore, if you have agreed to a license that limits fair use rights, then you have, in fact, limited your fair use rights.

For additional information on licensing @ NC State, go to Licensing Electronic Resources.
