Course Reserves and Periodicals

Course Reserves and Periodicals

View the Electronic Reserves website.

Faculty may complete a Reserve Request Form to place material on Reserve.

The Reserves Collection is located on the Main Floor at the Circulation Desk and is open during all building hours.

  • (919) 515-3364

The reserves collection contains material placed on reserve by N.C. State faculty as assigned or supplemental readings for their courses. Most items can only be checked out for short-term use by currently registered N.C. State students and faculty members.

The reserves collection includes:

  • Books owned by the NCSU Libraries being used as assigned or supplemental readings for specific N.C. State courses (branch library material is normally placed on reserve in the branch);
  • Faculty members' personal copies of material for their courses;
  • Photocopies of articles to be read as specific course assignments;
  • Tests and problem solutions for selected N.C. State courses.
The NCSU Libraries also offers Electronic Reserves. You can find more information and search e-reserves on the Electronic Reserves website.

The Current Periodicals are arranged by call number, beginning near the east stairs. If you need to find the call number of a periodical, search its title in the NCSU Libraries Catalog.

Current newspapers are located at the west end of the wing; they are organized in two groups--domestic and international--and alphabetically by title within each group.
